WILD TALES OF MADRID

The Community of Madrid may seem like a hostile environment for wildlife, but some species have found significant advantages for their survival here. This documentary showcases five extraordinary stories of various animals that develop their life cycles alongside us.

We will learn about the peculiarities of the white stork, which, for some years now, prefers to spend winters alongside the people of Madrid. We will discover the hunting skills of the smallest falcon in the Iberian Peninsula, the lesser kestrel, and be amazed by the formidable hunting strategy of the monstrous antlion. We will also uncover the intimate life of vegetarian ladybugs that feed on explosive plants, and above all, we will be astonished by one of the most surprising deceptions in the animal kingdom. We will witness how a young cuckoo disguises itself as one of the magpie's offspring so that the magpie raises it at the expense of its own descendants, an extraordinary behavior never before filmed.

These five wildlife stories unfold parallel to the daily routine of the people of Madrid. We will be witnesses to a secret and astonishing world that reveals the beauty of the unexpected amidst urban chaos.
