SHIELD: THE LIVING WALL OF THE CARIBBEAN
Duration: 3 x 45'
Year of Production: 2024
In recent decades, climate change has heightened the intensity and frequency of hurricanes, droughts, and marine heatwaves, striking the Caribbean region with particular violence. The result is devastated infrastructure, mass migrations to the United States, collapsed economies, and a threat to local wildlife and ecosystems.
In this documentary miniseries, filmed in four Caribbean countries, we witness the efforts of a multinational group of researchers (named CORESCAM) from the most important scientific institutions of the region, collaborating with native communities, to preserve the mangroves and corals of the region.
