Pablo is not an ordinary physical therapist. He lives totally dedicated to his profession, so that he not only treats his patients in a physical way, but also cares about them on a personal level and helps them psychologically without intending to do so.
But the reason why Pablo gets so involved in his work is just a way of not facing his own demons. While his wife is in a coma, he maintains a complicated relationship with his sister-in-law while falling in love with one of his patients.
