The Wind Sentries follows a study campaign by biologist Laura Gangoso on the remote islet of Alegranza in the northern Canary Islands. Over the course of more than 17 years studying the Eleonora’s falcon population on this arid site, Laura has discovered a surprising synchronization of the falcon with the trade winds, on which it depends for survival. Her work links the survival of this species’ nestlings to changes in wind patterns on a global scale, making them bioindicators of climate change.
