Onza Distribution is Assigned as the Global Sales Agent for the New Crime Series Neuer.

Neuer, the new procedural crime series from Slovak company KFS Production, is now part of Onza Distribution’s international catalog. Directed by Michal Kollár, the series is based on Václav Neuer’s bestselling novels and consists of eight 60-minute episodes. The series premiered on September 14 on TV JOJ and it was a resounding success, ranking as the most watched show of the night achieving a 24% audience share.

Each episode of Neuer is inspired by a bestselling novel by Václav Neuer, all of them rooted in real criminal cases. The series delivers a raw and unvarnished portrayal of police work within the regional homicide division: Chief Inspector Ledecký’s (Marián Miezga) team members face not only the most everyday crimes, but also the emotional toll these cases take on their personal lives.

Onza Distribution has acquired the international distribution rights for ‘Mamen Mayo: At Her Will’ (8×30’), making it available outside of SkyShowtime’s more than 20 European markets. The SkyShowtime Original, which premiered in Spain on November 18, is a new Spanish series that blends comedy with family drama. It follows the protagonist, Mamen Mayo (Sílvia Abril), an exceptionally intelligent inheritance mediator. She and her team specialize in resolving conflicts that arise in families who, for better or worse, inherit a fortune. With Mamen Mayo, Onza Distribution strengthens its catalog with a title that has already generated significant buzz in the market.

Onza Distribution Presents ‘The Color of Love,’ the New Telenovela from TVI

‘The Color of Love’ (120×60’) unfolds the captivating love story of a young Portuguese woman and an Angolan man, whose relationship is threatened by a dispute over an African estate.

Onza Distribution also announces the sale of two telenovelas: ‘Payback’ has been sold to Pasión Novelas, runned by Alshana, and ‘Cacao’ will soon be available across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Onza Distribution’s latest addition to its catalog is ‘The Color of Love’ (‘A Fazenda,’ 120×60’), a telenovela from TVI set to premiere this November.

‘The Color of Love’ is a story of passion and conflict, centered around the forbidden love between a Portuguese woman, Eva, and an Angolan man, Talu, whose lives are changed by a controversial inheritance. When Gaspar, a Portuguese businessman based in Angola, dies unexpectedly, he leaves his entire estate to three Portuguese women. Eva and her sisters, who had been struggling financially, inherit an unexpected fortune that includes one of the largest agricultural estates in Angola. However, Talu, a young Angolan engineer and Gaspar’s protégé, is shockingly excluded from his will in favor of the sisters. Despite their strong attraction, Eva and Talu soon find themselves on opposing sides in a heated estate dispute, ensnared in a web of conspiracies that tests their loyalties.

Filmed in both Angola and Portugal, ‘The Color of Love’ highlights the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of Angola, creating a backdrop where traditional African heritage intersects with the modern corporate world.

Onza Distribution sells other TVI telenovelas

On the other hand, Onza Distribution has also confirmed the sale of two other popular TVI-produced telenovelas, further strengthening its reach in the African market. Both telenovelas are available in the international sales agency’s catalog for MIP Cancún: ‘Cacao’ and ‘Payback’ (‘Ouro Verde’).

The telenovela ‘Payback’ (S1: 110×50’, S2: 131×50’), winner of the 2018 International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela, has been acquired by Pasión Novelas, a thematic channel owned by Alshana. The telenovela will be broadcast across various French-speaking African countries, including Senegal, Mali, Benin, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Mauritania, Niger, and Burkina Faso. It will also be available in La Réunion, a French overseas territory (DOM TOM).

Meanwhile, the hit telenovela ‘Cacao’ (239×50’) will also expand its audience, as it will be available soon across all Sub-Saharan Africa.

Onza Distribution announces the second season of ‘Flowers over the inferno’ Sleeping Nymph and new acquisitions

Onza Distribution presents the second season of the highly anticipated series ‘Flowers Over the Inferno’ in Cannes, a TV audience success in Italy during its first season. The Spanish international distributor also announces the addition of several new documentaries for MIPCOM, including ‘Iberia and Savannah: One Wildlife’ and ‘A Woman 24/7’.

Onza Distribution keeps growing as one of the leading international distributors of audiovisual content and expands its catalog. One of the main highlights Onza Distribution will be bringing to this year’s MIPCOM is the second season of the crime thriller series ‘Flowers Over the Inferno’. This new season is an adaptation of the second book from the best-selling saga by Italian author Ilaria Tuti and delves into the complex psyche of criminologist Teresa Battaglia, who leads a team in charge of solving unsolved crimes in the darkest corners of the Friulian Alps while facing the early symptoms of Alzheimer’s.

The first season of ‘Flowers Over the Inferno’ was a major success in Italy, leading prime time during the premiere of its first episode. Throughout the season, the series had over 25% of share on average, with 5 million viewers. This second season promises to maintain the level of intrigue and suspense that captivated audiences. It is set to premiere on October 28, 2024, on the Italian channel Rai 1, with six new 60-minute episodes. In this new season, Teresa Battaglia’s team, along with Massimo Marini, faces the mysterious murder of a young policewoman. As the investigation progresses, they discover the crime is linked to a long-lost painting, The Sleeping Nymph, painted with the blood of an unknown woman.

Onza Distribution has also spread its premium documentary slate with the addition of several standout productions, like ‘Iberia and Savannah: One Wildlife’ (1×52’). This 4K blue-chip wildlife documentary, produced by Azor Producciones in collaboration with Onza, is set to be released in early 2025. The production invites viewers to explore the ecosystems of the Iberian Peninsula’s Dehesa and the African savannah, two geographically distant but surprisingly similar natural environments.

This title is accompanied by the Canadian documentary series made by NU Production ‘A Woman 24/7’ (7×50’), which takes a look into one day in the lives of 21 women from 12 different countries, showcasing different and common ambitions, dreams, and challenges of women of all ages and cultures; ‘Wine Outsiders’ (5×30’), a series produced by the U.S.-based Econtent TV, that gives a unique look at the world of wine through the perspective of host and showrunner Felix M. Mendez, a former Emmy nominee; and ‘A Gipsy King’ (1×55’), a biographical documentary about André Reyes, the genius behind the iconic band Gipsy Kings.

Onza Distribution adds up Wakai’s sports documentaries to its catalogue

Onza Distribution will represent sports documentaries produced by Wakai & Prime Video Spain: ‘FC Barcelona: A New Era’ (S1: 5×40′, S2: 4×40′, 2022-2023), ‘Marc Márquez: All In’ (5×40′, 2023), ‘Simeone: Living Match By Match’ (6×40′, 2021). This marks the start of a promising new collaboration between international sales agency Onza Distribution and production company Wakai.

‘FC Barcelona: A New Era’, spanning two seasons, recollects the club’s most difficult and turbulent years until they reclaim the lost throne. The team is undergoing a total reconstruction process with a single goal: to win again. Onza Distribution picks successful TV NOVA period drama ‘Golden Swan’

Onza Distribution just announced the addition of ‘Golden Swan’ (Zlatá labut’) to its international catalogue. The series, created by Filip Bobinski, Jan Coufal and Petr Sizling from Dramedy Productions (‘The Manor House’, ‘Away From You’), is a production of Czech TV broadcaster TV NOVA (‘Ulice’, ‘One Family’). It premiered on the channel’s SVOD platform, Voyo, last January 26, 2023 and aired in free TV on February 2, followed by a second season that was broadcast at the end of August. The third season will bring the series to an end this June 2024. ‘Golden Swan’ recorded great audience scores in its first season, hitting a 29% of share in its most viewed episode with more than 1 million viewers.

The series travels back to 1939, set in the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, under Nazi occupation, at the beginning of World War II. Bára Veselá, a young thief, enters the Golden Swan luxury department store while escaping from the police. Following a series of accidents and mistakes, she becomes a saleswoman in the fashion department and a new life opens up for her. Soon the charming owner Petr, son of the Kučera family, notices her. They fall in love, but the match is so obviously unequal. During war times, can love be stronger than the struggles to carry it through?

Onza Distribution adds acclaimed series “Flowers Over The Inferno” to its catalogue

Onza Distribution recently added to its catalogue acclaimed TV adaptation ‘Flowers Over the Inferno’ (Fiori sopra l’inferno), an Italian series inspired by the best-seller written by Ilaria Tuti. ‘Flowers Over the Inferno’ (6×50′) premiered last February in prime time on the Italian public channel Rai 1. The series followed critical and public acclaim, registering in its first emissions 4 million viewers per episode average and 25.5% of share.

‘This series follow an intriguing police investigation with a bit of a Nordic noir touch, and it’s the adaptation of a best-seller, with a second season coming on October 2024 and potentially for more seasons adapting the other books of the series by Ilaria Tuti’, comments Béatrice Nouh, Head of Sales at Onza Distribution.

‘Flowers Over the Inferno’ is an original production by Publispei, the production company behind hits as ‘I Cesaroni’ and ‘Medico di famiglia’. Awaited series on Allende’s downfall begins international sale next fall by Onza Distribution

The co-production between Chile, Spain and Argentina has already been released this September in Chile and Onza Distribution will be exclusively in charge of its international distribution.

The miniseries, consisting of 4 chapters of 60 minutes each, is a political thriller combining elements of drama, which has been produced after the 50th commemorial of Salvador Allende’s death.

Highly anticipated miniseries “Allende The Thousand Days“, produced by Parox (“Invisible Heroes,” “The Substitute”), in collaboration with Mediterráneo Media Entertainment, Aleph Media, Mente Colectiva, and HD Argentina, premiered on TVN channel in Chile on September 7th, achieving great audience success. After its premiere, Onza Distribution has become its international distributor.

“Allende The Thousand Days” is a first fictional approach to depict the experience of the Popular Unity government following Allende’s journey (Alfredo Castro). These experiences are narrated through Manuel Ruiz’s point of view, a young Spanish lawyer who becomes his closest advisor. The series explores the challenges faced by Allende and his collaborators in fulfilling their government program, which promises to address social inequalities and achieve economic independence for the country. It delves into the intervention of the United States in domestic politics to destabilize the government and push forward the Armed Forces to carry out a coup d’état, the growing contradictions within the leftist movement exacerbated by the visit of Fidel Castro (Benjamín Vicuña) to Chile, the loyalty and his late betray of General Augusto Pinochet (Daniel Alcaíno). Over the course of 4 episodes, these and other pivotal events will illustrate how Chile became a focal point of global geopolitical balances in the early 1970s.
